This, we have done, without hesitation, examination, or question. We have assumed that what we adore as our faith or belief is true and correct. We have grown from childhood to adulthood with the assumption that we and our fellow believers are on the right path to god and salvation. We also sincerely believe that the religious cultures of others outside of our own denomination or creed are inferior to our own tenets or otherwise invalid, that is to say, not genuinely connected to the true god; the true god being, of course, designated as our god that we have named or labeled as Yahweh, Jesus, or Allah. We, of the various monotheistic faiths or denominations, proclaim confidently that god himself is the architect and author of our creeds, and that all those who do not share our beliefs are either pagans, infidels, savages, or perhaps misguided; and are not worthy of the deliverance and exaltation that awaits us as god s chosen. Some of us, at the extreme ends of our religious spectrums, even go so far as to say that those who worship outside of our own ranks, that is to say followers of other faiths, do not even possess souls worth saving, that We (a we in the category of a sometimes extreme or fanatical Jew, Christian, or Muslim) are the chosen and destined of god.
