This is one of the many I own from Ochanie lele! But I bought in the kindle version this time and I absolutely LOVE THE KINDLE VERSION ! I own the book as well but the kindle version is way better! I guess when you love a book and its become an essential to youre studying for LIFE daily regimens,you should consider getting both ! so you're never without . I randomly scroll through proverbs on my kindle and at other times when I'm in my yard, I just pick up the book ! Its definately wonderfully written to understand perfectly ,resourceful , and a very powerful book ! Although nothing can be written all in just a book , it definately gives an immense amount of ochanie leles gracious piece of mind by giving a big decent amount of information of odus and proverbs so that you carry it eventually within you ! (Even if its just used for keys) The rest through time and practice will make you a proficient italero. Fyi When speaking of this book its been called the "red book of the diloggun" ( yes, it even has a pet name lol)
Studying religions is a hobby of mine and this particular religion can be confusing. There aren't many good books on it in English until this came along. I recommend all the books by this author.
I am still reading it, It is one of those books you cant put down you have to read and re-read just because it hits so many great points you want to absorb every morsel. I absolutely would recommend this book to the seasoned diviner,priest and up and coming student who has a mentor/Godparent that can help guide them. I would not recommend this book is taken lightly; the author has taken years of painstaking research and it is apparent in the way it is written that the sacredness of the text is a treasure to be respected and honored. As a iyawo, I really enjoy the context this provides. As should always be the case, I run the interpretations past my Padrino because there are variations in interpretations from ile to ile. This is not your average reference book, this is more like an encyclopedia. This is a rather thorough explanation of the odus as well as a nice history of the Lucumi faith. Although this will never replace an apprenticeship with an Italero, this is a wonderful companion to assist with your studies and offers a great quick reference guide. Amazing work!
